Cracked Bed Cover?

Are you using an old bed cover that’s cracked, torn or otherwise damaged?

If you think that using it to protect your cargo is better than nothing, you may be wrong.  That old cracked or torn cover can’t protect from moisture.  It’s exposing the things you carry to the elements, which means that if it rains or snows, they’re going to get wet.

It does, however, protect your wet cargo from the wind and sunlight that can help it dry, in effect turning the box of your truck into a breeding ground for mould and mildew.  In the end, it might be better to transport your goods without any protection at all.

Carlson Truck Outfitters provides Manitoba pickup owners with quality truck accessories – the very best brands in the industry. We can help you replace your busted bed liner or torn tonneau cover with a quality new unit that will protect your truck and the things you carry in it.  We’ve got hard and soft bed covers from ReTrax, BakFlip, and TruXedo to fit your personal taste and budget.  We’ve also got the patented Full Metal Jacket spray-in polyurea bed liner, the industry’s most complete protection for the business end of your pickup truck, the bed.  This excellent product can be applied in only an hour, and your truck will be ready for action a day later.

Carlson carries a full line of accessories to make hauling cargo safer, protect your investment in your truck, and make owning it more enjoyable.  The right equipment means business – we’ll help you get the job done or the fun started.

How Tough are Truckbed Liners? The Mythbusters Find Out

For months you’ve seen us talk about the power of truckbed liners here on the Carlson Truck Outfitters website – how the Full Metal Jacket can protect your truckbed in all sorts of conditions.

Now there are probably some of you who have doubted that the truckbed liners are indeed as tough as they come in the market – that they are resistant to any sort of damage you can try to throw at it.

Well, some friends of ours – The Mythbusters – put that to the test recently.

Okay, we don’t actually know them but they’re definitely friends of the truckbed lining industry, especially after a polyurea liner was put to the test – successfully.

On a recent episode of the popular Discovery Channel show, the Mythbusters put polyurea bedlining to the test, and it came out strong.

Now we can’t, of course, show you the episode here, but we can direct you to the aftershow where Grant, Keri and Torie discuss the results of their tests and show highlights from the episode. So if you want to get a taste of the action, click here.

The True Test of your Truck

It’s easy to know exactly how much weight your truck can carry… it’s written right there in the owner’s manual.  But that’s under laboratory conditions, where all the weight is just that… weight. Evenly shaped, symmetrical blocks of material.  Which is nothing like the stuff we move around on a day to day basis.  We don’t carry weight.  We transport cargo.

Cargo is anything but symmetrical and evenly shaped.  It’s the often jagged, sometimes fragile, nearly always awkward stuff that we cram into the beds of our pickups in the name of getting the job done, or the fun started.

The right rig can make the difference between moving the material safely and not getting it done at all.

Carlson Truck Outfitters has been helping Winnipeg’s truck owners outfit for the big haul for years.  Whether you need bed rails to help secure your cargo or a bed cover to protect it from the elements, we’ve got you covered.

Speaking of covered, no truck bed should be without protection from sharp, spiky and heavy loads – think scrap metal, a rototiller, or tree limbs.  The Full Metal Jacket spray-in bed liner bonds seamlessly with the surface of your truck’s bed, creating a waterproof barrier that protects it from impact, abrasion, and just about any other hazard you can think of.

Visit Carlson Truck outfitters now, so the next time you’re planning to fill your truck with something other than a load of kittens or a stack of pillows, you can rest assured that you’ve got what you need to get the job done.
