Replace Damaged Lenses Quickly

Because your headlights are mounted on the leading edge of your car, damage to their lenses (the clear, plastic covers that protect the bulb itself) is a common occurrence.

Even a small crack can have a large impact on the effectiveness of your headlights, and can compromise your safety in a number of ways:

  • A large crack can refract some of the light leaving the lens, spreading it to the sides instead of straight ahead, which will hinder your ability to see.  It also might cause the light to blind oncoming drivers, which can be dangerous.
  • If water enters the lens, condensation can form on the inside, making it harder for light to penetrate, which will dim your headlights and make it harder to see.
  • Moisture will also shorten the life of the bulb inside, causing it to burn out prematurely.  The last thing you want is to have your headlight output cut in half on a rainy night in the middle of nowhere.
  • Finally, though extremely rare, moisture inside a headlight can cause the electrical connections to the light bulb to short out, resulting in a fire.

So, you can see that a cracked lens cover needs to be changed right away, both to keep you safe and to keep you from getting a ticket for a headlamp violation.

For a full line of headlight bulbs and lenses for your truck, visit Carlson Truck Outfitters at our new location, 155 Fennell St. in Winnipeg or call us at (204) 669-5249.

Ordering From Out of Town

At Carlson Truck Outfitters, we love trucks. And we know how frustrating it can be to be unable to find that perfect accessory, the one that says, “This truck is mine.”

If you live in rural Manitoba, you might find that your options for pickup truck accessories are somewhat limited.  We love the traditional “parts and tires” stores too, but they’re selling everything from antifreeze to road salt, and likely don’t have a staff with the same specialized knowledge that a dedicated truck outfitter like Carlson does.

We know we have the best products and the most knowledgeable staff, because truck outfitting is all we do.  Unlike an online store, our staff is made up of real people who are passionate about the products we sell, and the trucks we install them on.

That’s why we do our best to make it easier for truck owners from outside of town to experience the difference a specialty retailer can make in personalizing your truck.  We have Saturday appointments available, and have moved our shop to the south end of the city, making it easier to access from the highway and from communities out that way.

Our website allows you to have a look at the variety of accessories that we sell, keeps you up-to-date with regard to our specials, and puts you in contact with our knowledgeable staff, who are always willing to talk to you about your truck.

Whether you call, email, or just drop in at our new location, – 155 Fennell St. in Winnipeg, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for at Carlson Truck Outfitters.  If you tell us what you need, we’ll do our best to make sure you get it.
